OK here is my try at this. I ran the benchmark from the first beach to the dead teammate in the tree.

I put SSs of my settings in the game and RivaTuner after shutdown.

OK I just installed 169.04 I used the same setting that I used above. I started the benchmark just before shooting the first guy then, after I took the other two I ran up the left and emptied a pistol clip while running in the jungle. I also followed Jester to the first cut scene. I try to do the same thing every time for better results.

Here is the benchmark with stock clocks. 513/790

2007-11-01 14:11:36 - Crysis
Frames: 4515 - Time: 200405ms - Avg: 22.529 - Min: 13 - Max: 32

Here is an overclock to 575/850
2007-11-01 14:21:47 - Crysis
Frames: 5333 - Time: 208503ms - Avg: 25.578 - Min: 5 - Max: 37

My next step is to try to find a few settings to lower and then I may try a lower resolution.

Dropping shadows down to low make a massive difference. So does post processing.

OK here is what I have come up so far.

Video card OCed to 600/900
Resolution is at 1280 x 960
2xAA
Texture, objects, shaders, and sound are high.
Shadows are low.
All else medium.

2007-11-01 21:45:27 - Crysis
Frames: 6455 - Time: 195147ms - Avg: 33.078 - Min: 20 - Max: 53

Its not as pretty but it is a nice balance between eye candy and playability.

Here are a couple of SSs in case you wonder what it looks like at these settings.

E6600 stock 2.4ghz
EVGA 8800gt superclocked
2g corsair xms Ram

First the settings, You'll see the fps I'm getting in the upper left of the screens. It was very playable, average of around 30fps. I also had 2x AA turned on, and my resolution was 1680 x 1050. Enjoy!!

That looks very nice MD. Did you try the benchmark? You know the F11 key starts/stops the benchmark in fraps. The results will be put into a log in the same folder as the screenshots. I have been running from just before killing the first guy to the first cut scene.

I'll have to try those settings MD, I have the same setup as you other than my GTX.

I'll do that now! I did run it, but wasn't sure how long it lasted. I see now it lasts until I stop it, unless I check that box right?

Is it true that running XP I can only set to High settings anyway?
