View Full Version : Why not make Cains Lair for teamwork only people?

Well why dont we do that, make cains lair like those other 24/ teamwork servers, if you dont use tactics, teamwork and cordination you get kicked, and for insubordination of a tactialy correct order its a ban.
Shure it seems a bit to much like real life army style but it would help the server alot!
Like in the past month the rounds are not what they used to be, before it was those kind of rounds wear its the next missile hit that will decide who will win but now it's more of a n00b battlefield and you dont see much teamwork if any and nobody follows orders, people care about points more than helping their team wich is horible.
Nobody defend silos for the whole round wich I do when I am told but others dont because they want POINTS...
Servers that kick and ban for not using teamwork help alot and I found myself playing on theme alot because im kinda getting tired of the whole points thing and no teamplay.
I still love you guys here at cains lair but you need to start picking sides and show your colors on what you pick, are you just like every other public server or a special server wear teamplay and great games comes before points?

Pretty sure as long as you're not asshatting or breaking other posted rules it's a server for people to have fun on.

sorry to say but the server is already number 1 in the world. i'd say that people like it just the way it is!

Yeah, some people come here for that exact reason, there are little rules, basically just be nice and dont cheat. We get RDX hoppers because FF is off, and they come here specifically for that reason.

I like the idea, but yet again, Cain's Lair is here to have fun. We aren't going to force people what they don't want to do.

We are like the Ibiza of 2142 servers. The few and simple rules attract a very large crowd, but sometimes they are shady people.

you do realise that the CL 2142 server is likely to be gone in two weeks, don't you?
at any rate, forcing the in game chain of command is against what Cain's stands for.

So you guys rather have an uncordinated battle with everybody lonewolfing and doing watever they want and acting like idiots or have a game that is so cordinated and filled with tactics it looks like the Intro Movie when you load up the game?
And btw so I dont sound like a hipocrite I would just like to ad that the only time I turn on my Macros on my G15 with RDX is when I am charging down a coridore becuase without it its imposible to get throught.

Are you shure about that?
Having actual rushes when attacking the titan, having masive tank formations with all the vehicles in theme and squad around and having people actualy defend silos?
If that happend I think bf2142 would be my only game!
I realise that a masive transformation would never happen because some people just dont understand teamwork but their should be aleast a thing that autokicks if you dont squad up.

It has been discussed before. My experiences and others also that have played a "Must Squad Up" or get kicked servers, is that they don't have any more true teamwork action than what was going on with ours. Forced them to join a squad, but they were Still Lone Wolfs. Looked good on Paper though..
When we had Many CLR's playing on the server, I've had GREAT squads and Uber teamwork. I've got old pics of several convoys with all of us owning. Forced to squad? No.
As little as 2 weeks ago, I had started a squad, serveral people joined in, and everyone decided to actually follow along. We kicked some serious tail. :2thumbs:
When I jumped on today, there were 3 squads that weren't even full, and the rest were lone wolfs. I joined a squad, and no talking, no orders, no nothing. They were just in the squad for the points, if that. So I made my own squad. Did get 1-2 people pop in and out of the squad, but they really didn't want to attack what I had designated, so why squad? I still had some fun, it just wasn't as MUCH fun as I could have had.
I'll still start a squad if I've checked out the open squads and the squad leader isn't doing his/her job. Join me or not, your choice. CLR's will naturally gravitate to other CLR's. We KNOW that we do great teamwork together. If it is only 2 CLR's, that's more teamwork than most squads have. :2thumbs: Other's will see us kicking people's rears, and decide to join up. Soon we have a full squad and taking names. That has happened many many times.
But yes, I've seen a lot of newby players, lone wolfs, etc.. And the occassional Uber player that decides I'm his chosen victim for the day.. lol
It isn't nearly as much fun going lone wolf as it is having a functional squad to me, but you take what you can get sometimes.
Being an SL with no squaddies, I can still watch the chat logs, check for exploits on the Titan, watch for repeated rammers, etc... We still like to have admin oversight when possible, even with the server going away. Keeps everyone honest. :D

The spirit of cains lair is "You will come for the games, but you will stay for the people" Forcing people into a certain style of play is very much against that ethos!

I realise that a masive transformation would never happen because some people just dont understand teamwork but their should be aleast a thing that autokicks if you dont squad up.What you talk about is done whenever a CLR squad is on. The server is dieing down thats why you see alot of unknown names playing. Your ideas wont work on a public server. I'm thinking you should rent your own server start a clan and see where it goes. If you were here in the hayday off the titan server. Teamwork was everywhere. :)

Massacre in a tank, Pigworthy in his walker, and Geddy in his APC. You must have never had the opportunity to come up against that column, I have never seen better teamwork. And speaking of the devil of APCs, anyone seen Geddy recently?

I appreciate the comments Snake and Massacre. I have been very busy with RL and have not been able to play 2142 very much let alone the other new games that Cain has put up.
But I had a blast squadding with Massacre and SirChadwick for a couple of rounds. While PAC lost both rounds, it was evident that our squad was working in sync which is always the case when I work with Mass.
I nuke em and he fries em up!

i played 2 rounds on titan tonight, and it was the most disappointing rounds i've had in Long time...
No teamwork, no voip, total lone wolf behavior.. was no fun at all..
It may be full, but it certainly isn't Cain's Lair type of play...
very disappointing...
I have more fun in the mornings, where at least they try to do squaddy stuff..

More fun this morning for sure...
Actually got someone that gunned for me finally on the gunship,
and one that defended a silo with me on a Tanking Rampage. :D
I did join a couple of squads first though, and they had no speech, no attack/defend orders except for 1 squad. But that squad, the squaddies were all over the map. Even the SL wasn't attacking his designated target.. lol
I'll generally always start my own squad. Like I said, join or not, but I'm out to Kill Stuff.
