Just so everyone can get an idea how different kinds of hardware are holding up.

I'm running:

P4 3.2
2 gigs of ram
7800GS 256 meg agp

Medium to high settings

Interiors I'm getting highs of 47fps

Outside I'm getting any where from 22 to 35 depending on the action.

edit: 1280 X 1024 resolution

Athlon X2 4400+
2 GB DDR400
ATI X850 Pro

Max settings with the tweak at the top of the topic list applied at 1280x1024. I get around 30-50FPS. Maybe a bit lower when the action is really intense.

1 gig RAM
7800 GS AGP 256MB

Settings: low
Resolution: 800x600 (the darn thing won't let me change the settings or it crashes for some reason. :?

FPS: Ummmm... It's pretty smooth! I never miss out on seeing myself blown up and dismembered in any manner of nasty ways. :D

edit: I did use the tweaks that came out early on and noticed a smoother gaming experience... I think.

Getting anywhere from 60 to 90 fps at 1440x900 and max settings.

I uncapped the fps in the ini, but I think there is an absolute cap of 90 fps.

I will try my hand at some overclocking when retail comes out.

I run dual 1680x1050 monitors so I have to turn off all the eye candy and set my resolution to 1024x768. Then I consistently get 90fps in VCTF.

At 1680x1050 the fps is around 30 but dips too often into the low 20's to be playable.

Even without all the eyecandy, it still looks good!

One thing, I am not buying a new video card until the retail comes out. Word has it that the beta demo does not have the highrez textures.

amd dualcore fx60--stock
xfx 7800gtx 512meg--stock oc to 560meg
2 gig corsair xms pc3200

1280x1024 res, 47 fps

Unable to change resolution as I get crash to desktop, used tweak guide, dualcores at 100% usage on menus, 80-90% in-game, ram usage 41% steady. Bios, chipset & vid drivers updated as well as amd hotfix drivers.

...very, very disappointed in how it runs on my midrange system.

Lol, rich fooz. It is strange that it doesn't seem to be running better for you guys.

I've got my school laptop running it at 960 x 600 on absolute lowest settings and I get about 40fps in menus and 20-30 in combat.

I think I will try a bit of OCing tonight and see if it helps at all. I am also reading the Tweak guide that Vito linked to to see what I can do. Time to get the marsh mellows :2thumbs:

It's interesting watching these posts and trying to figure out what drives performance in this game. In my case, I am sure that if i dial down the resolution from 1920x1200 that i can get significant improvement in fps. But even at 60 this game plays extremely well.

Many of us with decent CPUs, GPUs and RAM are all getting 60 fps. The only real stand out is Dragon above and the besides 2xGTX's, I am wondering if that Ageia PhyX Card isn't giving this game a real boost.

BlackArrow negative the physX card actually lowers my framerate. I currently run it disabled. It does not improve framerate at all and does nothing for eyecandy. For the most part it is as useless as the killer nic IMHO don't ever waste your money on this thing. I get higher framerates with it disabled. It doesn't do squat I will wait for warfare mode to see if there is any improvement if not then it is coming out of my rig. The slot is more valuable for something else.

I remember when the first 3D cards where hitting the market. Games generally ran SLOWER with "hardware acceleration" than they did with software rendering.

The first Voodoo card changed that for good!

Speaking of performance.....I wanted to up my fps by dropping my resolution...every time I attempt to change resolution or change to windows mode the game crashes to desktop. Anyone else have this and how did you fix it?

{ETN}Dragon{CLR}
4th Nov 2007, 02:09 AM
My windows key doen't work starfire not sure how you are going to windows mode. I usually hit ctrl+alt+delete and it bring up the task manager which kicks me out to desktop. When you change rez, which works for me, screen goes blank for a bit but it does work takes a while to change.

Starfire
4th Nov 2007, 12:58 PM
Mine also goes blank then I get the standard Windows Error and Do you want to Send it to Microsoft...blah blah blah. I've tried setting monitor resolution to the resolution I try to change to but still get the same error. The only thing I haven't done is manually change it in the ini.
