In case you don't know PS3 users can join irc channels on the PS3 browser using mibbit.com
To join the channel:
1. Go to Mibbit Webchat (http://www.mibbit.com)
2. Choose the server in the IRC tab
3. Enter the name in the channels field then select GO.
You can do a search too but that method doesn't always list new channels.
Oh and don't forget about Basic IRC Commands (http://www.ircbeginner.com/ircinfo/ircc-commands.html) if you do find a channel...:D
