Gamespy Login require ports to open?

Everytime I take my assigned IP (from the router) out of DMZ each round ends w/ a disconnect. Had the same problem w/ BF2142 login as well and the only thing that worked was DMZ.

Would opening the Gamespy ports solve this as I'm not to keen on setting my IP in and out of DMZ all the time.

I don't think so, I do not have any special ports open with my router and have had no problems with UT3 and gamespy. My PC is also not set as the DMZ.

I had to put myself in the DMZ on my router just to see the servers without causing Windows to lockup all is networking crap. I'd apreciate if anyone had info reguarding this.
