I'm starting to see a lot of familiar faces coming back to Cains now that we have a new Epic Game...

Who are some of you who have "come back home" ??? Post here and say "Hi" chances are many of our newer folks may not know you.

(Flak, I already saw you, and even though you may not be an official CLR, I'll give you an Honorary tag !!)

Great to see many old friends. I wonder where HogDather, MotherPorker, etc are ??

Well I'm not sure if I really ever left, just haven't really played a game here since UT2K4 was pulled. Now that UT3 is going I'll be around a lot more. I think when Warfare gets going there will be a lot more people coming back.

Hi, my name is Stan, my nickname is Eminent, ablackperson or abp. Lets just say I've been playing on here since UT99 (around '99-'00) and left UT99 for CS in '01 and played in Cains other servers/games for a while then stopped online gaming the past 2-3 years (I got a life lol), but my home has always been UT (I skipped out on 03/04 they just didnt feel like UT99). But so far UT3 is bringing me back. Only thing I need now is a better video card. So hey to the new ppl, hey to the old ppl and thanks again to Cain for having the best servers (and people) on the internet, hands down. Heres to hoping you pickup UT3 and run a full version UT3 server in November.
See you all on the VCTF server (DM is just too hectic on that shangrlia (sp?) stage).

If your computer can't play UT3 then you need an upgrade indeed!! It's actually very smooth and scalable to lower end systems.

and I am now with Ti clan (Tribal Instinct ) and still getting my rear kicked all over the place. I love the demo and hope to play more of it.

Not everyone who ventures into Warcraft for any length of time is lost forver... just takes a game like UT3 to rescue some folks (ok, so I am not going to stop playing "Warcrack", but I will definately be playing UT3 as well).

Mel was the first person I heard on open mic in CS, and .... wow, she had the sweetest voice even as she gunned you down. I was way too late in playing CS to enjoy the game, but it was a fun distraction from time to time.

She got sucked into WOW. And yes she used to play CSS.
I got to meet her at one of the CL Lans. She is as nice in person as she seemed online. She even brought cookies to the Lan.

I appreciate you asking that my friend, that is ALL CLASS!!

I require my Admins to wear a CLR tag, which makes sense, but I don't ask outside Clans to wear a CLR tag when playing in my servers, BUT I also forbid outside Clans from advertising their own servers or recruiting in my server (or Forums), and I think that makes sense also.

I hope CLRs have the good manners to not recruit (in public or private) while playing in someone else's server, or in their Forums - that is classless and rude. The main Game Developer/Publisher Forums are fair game, and recruiting is expected there.

I know alot of folks moved away while we were running other games but I'd love to see everyone "come home" and the mini-clans perhaps become CLRs again.

I'm planning to start a sub group for competitive matches like we did with the 2142 guys, who played in several tournaments.

I tried that, and with post processing on mute, and world and texture up to 5 everything is fuzzy and blurry, I'll upload a screeny for you

Erm I should. I updated them not too long ago because I was having trouble viewing videos. Hold on let me check.

EDIT: I just grabbed whatever drivers nvidia was offering on their site, just booted em up, turns out it's the same ones I had before.

Still running the same problem. I might try reinstalling it tommorow, Iunno. Hey Cain, do me a favor, think you could grab these last few posts and turn them into a topic in the computer lab, or just a new topic in UT3, don't want to clutter up this topic with my problems.

The fix is make sure your screen percentage is at 100 in the video options, tis probably at 50

Howdy doodie! Specials hugs to Cain and my old friends here!

I finally dl'ed the demo, and "le voila" CainsLair was active (Deathmatch on that silly Chinese-temple/whatever map :o) )

It was sooooo nice to be back again ... changed my tag to {CLR}Wendy but I didn't recognize anyone, nor did anyone recognize me :( .... the joy of aging -- I may be a couple of years older, not dead yet, but still ready to frag your ass! LOL (...you know who you are).

It's been 2 years or so since I was active on a CL server (after UT2003 took the dirt nap on CL), but I always missed the server -- sorry, those "other" games never pulled me in.

However, there is some bad news. My 3/4-year old PC can't cut the mustard. Demo (with video turned down) still only manages 15-22 FPS, so I have to get a new computer. Until then, I may be on and off, but I am embarassed by my game play, so a new computer is in order. Dell HP 720 H2C is in the cards, but something else outside of the game has to happen first.

I have a PS3 and am very pleased with it (especially the racing demos, eg.. GT5), so I may have to wait to see how it runs there, but I am expecting to run it on both my (new) PC and my PS3.

I remember chatting with RicO on the old chat channel that went with slEZboard, and I seriously sliced my finger popping a video card out. I had to run and get some band aids, and he thought I had bled out in the time it took me to get bandaged up .. lol. That was ugly .. little bloody drops on the mainboard that were not easy to clean ..

Well I have been on the forums some but I haven't played on a Server since UT2K4. I was going to fire up the Pirates mod but then I got ahold of Bioshock...

I will pick up my copy of UTIII tomorrow. I was hoping to play CTF here but I saw Cain is going to run two warfare servers so I am not sure if that's gonna be for me, I never really liked Onslaught... :D
