I got a great graphics tweak for everyone. Every since I installed the UT3 demo, the graphics just didn't seem right , it looked a little blurred and the colour seemed off. Last night I came across a tweak and just got around to testing it today, and boy what a difference. I'll show you some pics first a then tell you how to do it.

You have to edit the UTEngine.ini
Its now located in My Documents\My Games\Unreal Tournament 3 Demo\UTGame\Config
Its always best to save the file somewhere else first just in case.
Open that file and look for this

Ok so now you want to change MotionBlur, DepthOfField, QualityBloom and Trilinear to False. Save file and enjoy.

Depth of Field was the only one set to true on mine.

Hmmm i have motion blur etc turned on but it doesn't look half as bad as that. I wonder if it's because i'm using the max available settings.
I also use post processing as vivid.

Oops sry Kronos! :oops: Great find! I feel like I'm playing a different game. Looks like I feel it should now! Nice and crisp! I never liked that motion blur on games. MY FPS got a nice jump to guys!

Just set the game to max settings, mute "Post processing" and disable "Depth of Field" via ini file.
How can I tell the ut3 engine that it should use my 3 GB of ram instead of streaming it the ugly way? :?

i found another tweak that helped out my 7950 GT
this helps hitches on Nvidia 6 and 7 series cards :
[Engine.ISVHacks]
UseMinimalNVIDIADriverShaderOptimization=False.
Change that line to
UseMinimalNVIDIADriverShaderOptimization=True

What does that do??? I have a 7950gt and am rolling maxed out with 30-60fps.

World Detail@1 = UT2K4 look
World Detail@2+ = Gears of War look
Found this when making the Key Guide and the fact I can only run it at level 1 anyways (it sets most of those to False)...:D

Wow, that looks 100% better! Also seems to run much better as well....smooth as glass even :o Gonna play around in that file for a bit, see if I can't squeeze even more clarity out of this :D

I just had to check mine, even though i doubt i will change anything. Only DOF and Trilinear were set to true on mine.
Wonder what's causing all the random settings? :?

maybe different computer specs?
maybe its trying to optimize GFX performance..but failing miserably

Running a 7600GT, that helped a bunch. Frame rate increase, and the game no longer looks crappy. It feels entirely different (better!)

Bump.
Guys, I just did a test against the bots, and in Warfare, it looks like you need to make sure "teamdeathmessage" is set to false in your game.ini. In my file, "UTDeathMessage" was already set to false, but the option for "UTTeamDeathMessage" was at true.
Apparently, the game associates team deathmatch with warfare for the purposes of displaying death messages.
