I'm not seeing the server in either server list.
I do see a bunch of servers without names though :?

Yep...make sure you are looking for servers that are full, as Cain's was sitting at 24/24

I'm still awake at 2:40 because I'm trying to start a VCTF server on the other box, but I cannot get it to work... I had to stand on my head to get the DM one to work, and had to drive down to Columbia earlier...

The DM server is bumping along fine, but the other box HATES this game for some reason I cannot understand.

tomorrow I'll try to run a second server off he same box but with a different port......

BTW The DM server has gotten up to 64 players, and i have no idea why or how!!

Found it again also and had some great DarkWalker carnage. Deathmatch is a blast.

Good luck on the VCTF server. Everyone I have been at lags. Best ping is around 150. Your DM ping around 60 for me :2thumbs:

VCTF and DM are up, but they are both glitchy and crash all over the place.

Problem I am having is I don't know (yet) how to allow going between both DM maps.

Master server list is either port 27900 or 42292 but both need to be open.

Since it's co-located I wouldn't think that I have to ask them to forward or open any ports. I haven't had to do that for UT2004 or UT99.

For a little server operator like me who is resource and financially limited, non-ranked games are terrific, and much less expensive .. MUCH LESS !!

If we were a big Clan like some, with over 10 thousand members, it may be different.

Cost issues aside (since "ranked" servers are tightly controlled, thus must be leased -- as Cain is acutely aware), I also think that unranked games, without unlocks, are accessible to everyone. You buy the game and you're on the same field as everyone else in terms of access to the weapons, vehicles, etc. The only thing that you lack is "skillz", but that can be picked up as you play.

You can also play at your own pace, and do not need to dump hours of gametime to get the best wtfpwn weapon. If I can only play 2 hours a day, but am darn good at the game, I am not at a disadvantage of a person who has put in hours to unlock the "one shot wonder" weapon.

The arguement can be made that people who put in that time "deserve" more I suppose, but it is not one I agree with. That is one thing I like about the UT series, in addition to much easier support for custom maps, etc over a company like EA with the BF franchise.

Whatever the case, I am glad Epic has stay away from the "unlock" crap. If they did, I'd not be playing this game much.
