I was in for a few minutes, then I got a connection error. I tried to get back in, restarting steam and DoD:S, but it will not connect me now. I can see the server is up, and I can connect to other DoD:S servers, but I just can't get into Cains. :(

The error happens when I click to join the game, and I get:
Loading: Connecting to server...
then,
Disconnected: Connection failed after 4 retries.

Did you restart steam/ your computer?
That usually helps when I get Steam errors.

I deleted a file and I can not remember the name of it. I am out of town and do not have Steam or DODS on my laptop.
If you do not have it fixed I will be home Monday evening.

Was it the ClientRegistry.blob?
Usually that fixes it for me... shut down steam, go to C:Program Files/Steam and it should be in that folder... just delete it and restart steam.. it will do a quick update and should fix it.

Well, everything works, and I'm not even sure why, but I'm not complaining. Long story short, I thought my network card had died, so I put in an old one. Things were better for a little while, then I started to have all kinds of problems. I replaced the cable (the first thing I should have checked), and then everything worked again, except for the steam games. I went back to the old NIC, and everything is fine again.

That was the one. The memory is the second thing to go. I am not going to mention number one.:oops::D
