They released the full setlist for Rock Band 2 at E3 today. It is chock full of win.

Also announced today is that the majority of the songs on the Rock Band 1 disc will be transferrable to Rock Band 2 for a onetime fee of under $5.00 (for everything, not per song). My guess is that licensing issues keeps them from transferring them all (i.e. Aerosmith...which is fine with me), and the fee is an attempt to recoup some of the losses they'll take from everyone renting Rock Band 1 instead of purchasing it.

Harmonix has just unveiled the full song set list for the upcoming Rock Band 2. There will be a whopping 84 songs on the disc, and an additional 20 songs available as free DLC after the game's release. The set list is comprised entirely of master recordings, and features AC/DC, Guns N' Roses, Bob Dylan, Metallica, Pearl Jam and more.

Is there going to be any new hardware?

Yes, but everything is backward and forward compatible. You can use the RB1 stuff with RB2 and vice versa.

The guitars are mostly unchanged, but with better strumbars and quieter buttons.

The normal drumkit will have velocity sensitive and quieter drums, as well as attachment points for cymbals (sold separately) if you want to attach them.

The ION drumkit is a fully-featured 8 or 9 piece (I think) electronic drumkit, you can swap the 360/PS3 controller head out for a drum brain and you have a real drumkit. It's $300 though.

There's also a new drum trainer mode that actually teaches you how to play real drums, and a freestyle mode that lets you play drums along to any song you have loaded or streaming to your 360/PS3.

hmm.. not to mention that you will be able to download tons more of songs. I'm impressed by some of the bands on here. I like the addition of Bob Dylan and Steve Miller. Im still in debate between this one and Guitar Hero: World Tour
