Tomorrow July 3, 2008 I'm headed to Columbia and LogicSouth. Our server boxes will be moving to a new locker that is easier for me to access.

This is being done in anticipation of our new Server box arriving later this month.

Once we get the new server box we should be able to run 4 new games, while keeping the ones we already have.

I'm wide open for new game suggestions, you got any ??

Anyhow the servers and this web Page will likely be offline for an hour or two tomorrow, probably around mid-day EDT.

So we are running TF2, COD4 and DOD:S…so that’s 4 games on top of that? Sweet.

I’m not sure a CSS server would fly… the game has been around for a while and most people have their favorites already set. And there are still a bunch of CSS servers out there. DOD might work if DOD:S tanks.

If you want to simply fill up the game slots, you can put up a UT3, BF2 (SF or what not), BF2142, Q4…

Unfortunately, not many people are playing UT3. Spectacular failure perhaps even beyond the UT2k3 debacle. Which is too bad, because it's fun.

Full time Special Forces would be fun. Or maybe Crysis, so we can all chug around at 10 FPS in a full multiplayer match. :)

I've got a question though it doesn't pertain to games played. I've noticed a lot of newer people on the server and some regulars who talk about lag. I've noticed spikes every now and then but I'm curious to what is causing it? Is it games played on the box at any given time with out enough pipe? Curious because I have some of my best hit registration on this server so I'm at a loss to the complaining?

Oh for games but BF2, BF2142, R6, and R6 Las Vegas.

My Little Pony Online! Peggle TDM!

But seriuosly, outside of 2142 my Vista machine won't run many games over 2 years old very well. It locks up on the load screens for BF2 and I don't even own CSS or DOD.

What games are coming out in the next few months that might fly?

I know. I was joking about Crysis, and while I know nobody plays SF, that doesn't mean it's still not fun.

Joint operations typhoon riseing
" escalation
" International conflict
" Advanced Warfare

Depending on the server you can have up to 240 player in at one time

Uses nile map editor to create maps

Its been arround for a while but its a good game it mirrors call of duty in a lot of ways ( could say Call of Duty is a mirror of JOTR )

Heres a link to look at and this is just the IC mod

It's only natural to think of Joint Operations: Typhoon Rising as an attempt to clone EA's successful multiplayer-focused team-based shooters, Battlefield 1942 and Battlefield Vietnam. On the surface, Joint Operations looks like a modern-day Battlefield game: you participate as a member of a team as you attempt to seize a number of strategic objectives, and you can run around on foot or jump into a myriad of vehicles to get around the vast maps. But developer and publisher NovaLogic throws in a lot of new features to differentiate Joint Operations from the competition, and some of these features are quite innovative and exciting. There's the fact that the game can support up to 150 players per server, which is significantly greater than what the Battlefield games can support. Then there's the dynamic day/night cycle that actually models the time of day; no longer are you fighting in perpetual daylight or eternal dusk. Joint Operations is a genuinely exciting game, which makes it all the more difficult to admit that the retail version of the game also has a few notable flaws.

Taken from Joint Operations: Typhoon Rising Review (http://www.gamespot.com/pc/action/jointoperations/review.html?om_act=convert&om_clk=tabs&tag=tabs;reviews). There is a 3 page review there for more information.

Note that a dedicated server is not yet available for this game. One can host a 64p server by themselves, but it won't be dedicated, and from the 3-4 reviews I found it sounds like pulling teeth to get it to run and populated.

This game is part of the Delta Force Family. I played all of them. Loved to snipe with the Barrett. I loved being able to snipe from a perceived 1 klick. :d:

The voxel game engine allows for nearly unlimited draw distance, providing for expansive outdoor environments which vastly exceed the size of levels in many games with polygon-based terrain. Although the base terrain for each level is only a square kilometer, this is tiled in all directions, potentially allowing for literally unlimited travel. Due to the expansive size of the environment, gameplay is focused more on long-range combat, and many gunfights take place at hundreds of metres.

While the landscape itself is voxel, all other in-game objects, including buildings and characters, are rendered with polygons.
