It's not going to put me off playing but.....
Not sure which beta version this is tied to.

Good thing I stopped playing the Beta after getting frustrated at how poor the net code and optimization are right now. I should not be slide-showing on my new system for another couple of years. :P

It's not just linked to Ati cards anymore. :o

Suddenly I no longer feel guilty about having an unused beta key for the last few weeks.

Not really chomping at the bit for this game anyway....Sure it's pretty, but if the gameplay is anything like Farcry, I'll pass.

No problem here on XP or Vista. Been playing the Beta from the beginning. I use ATI.
Maybe I am lucky.

I know of at least 30 other people playing this Beta and none of them are having any problems with their operating systems, whether it be XP SP2 or Vista 32 or 64 bit.
This could be an "Urban Legend" it happens on almost every new game Beta.
Usually it is a "cockpit error"

There's nothing wrong with the operating systems, but there are clearly some issues with the Crysis code right now. For one thing, it's very poorly optimized, and you can see posts to this effect all over the place. Not just in the Beta forums either, but at sites like IGN which have put up first impressions of the Beta.
As to whether that would kill video cards, I can't say. That part at least may be operator error. But the poor multiplayer code and incredible amounts of lag are game-side issues that still need to be worked out prior to release.

Agree. This is what the Beta is for.

For me it is wierd. AVG thinks the mpbeta executable is a virus and quarantines it . Go figure.

I'm totally loving this game, but i never see any CLR's to play with. :(
No lag and hitting 30fps minimum. There's a few pause glitches here and there but thankfully they don't happen in the middle of a firefight. :D

Yes I have heard about the AVG thing. Just exclude the folder structure from your scan.
Yea those lags are usually near some VIS area. There is still a lot of optimizing to do with this game before it is ready for prime time.
Play it and complain!!! The squeaky wheel gets the grease!
