TF2 Server map list

What is the map rotation on this thing? I've been playing exclusively on cain's server for the past couple days but always end up on 2Fort, which I hate with a passion.

Are there any plans to implement a vote system such as rock the vote? I've seen so many good servers that are full with Dustbowl, empty out with 2Fort.

I know I'm jumping the gun, but there are some really top shelf custom maps out there as well. My favorite at the moment is pl_dbheights (dustbowl... payload style) and it is really well balanced.

Yea, you either need 24/7 2fort, or 24/7 Dustbowl/a payload map. Most popular servers have a map voting system and a custom map or two in the vote list

2Fort is what I played damn near exclusively before TF2 returned to the Lair. Here's where things get weird ... I HATED it with a passion earlier when playing TF2, but since Spring I have been hanging out on the 2Fort only servers.
Now, try and explain that one !! I guess if I had to I'd say I like the map layout for my preferred Pyro class. I can sneak attack and crit about 4 guys at once, and that makes WT very happy. But don't go and dismiss the map forever.
I saw it empty out the server last night, and only the real hardcore vets hung around (Carbon, BA, me and a few others). I won't try and change your mind, but its a map that takes hours to win unless one team plays no defense at ALL.

i also seen the server empty out about 7players or so when its changes to 2fort, and to be honest i really dislike that map. either i stay for a few to keep the server going till other people join or spec till the next map.

I used to play 2fort nearly exclusively as well, but then I went out searching for a server with a rotation, so I could change things up a bit. Found this server, and love the rotation. I do get kinda sad when 2fort comes up, because it's so overplayed. I still on occasion play Halo PC, and most of the well-populated, low ping servers are Blood Gulch, many using only rockets. I just don't wanna see 2fort go the way of the Gulch.

That may come in time Ben, but first we need to stay populated 24/7 for a good long while. I've played a couple of decent custom maps since coming back to TF2, and wouldn't mind seeing them on the Lair either.

But nothing keeps people away more than playing on a seemingly normal server, only to have to start downloading some big arse map file. Seen it time and time again, custom maps mixed with regular rotation maps empty out servers. :p

Actually... the custom map servers are the most popular as far as I've seen. Mach4, lazytown are the most popular for 24/7 servers.
2Fort is the only stock map that deserves to stay.
