I'm out to buy something for SP on my PC

Gears of War

Halo 2-3?

Crysis?

Quake Wars 4?

Something else???

My son will be playing this more than me probably.
4th grade.
After all, I'm commited to COD4, UT3, and TF2.

I would say Crysis but it contains quite a bit of mature content.

Crysis is awsome but Gear's of War is a great game to in Sp and Mp.

I'm assuming you already have Bioshock? If not, get that instead.

Bioshock is the best pc game since at least Oblivion, if not longer. Then again, since you like more run and gun, you would probably like Crysis more.

Bioshock is going to be a better SP experience. Its more atmospheric, more engaging and more unique than Crysis. Both are good games though. One thing to note on Bioshock, it is a bit more gruesome and disturbing than Crysis, so if your son will be primarily playing it, Crysis is probably the better choice.

But if you haven't gotten Bioshock, I wholeheartedly suggest you check it out....at least the demo :2thumbs:

GoW was fun (on the X360), but I thought it was kinda short. Maybe the PC version with the added chapter justifies it along with the additional precision of the mouse. I'm staying away from GoW mainly due to the fact that online play is limited again to Games For Windows Live Pay-for-Play garbage. Same goes for Halo 2 PC

You can only play Halo 2 on the PC if you have Vista...

No you can play halo 2 on xp they is a way to get it to run out there, As for the SP is crap the MP in not much better.

True, there is a patch (unofficial, otherwise known as hack) that allows you to run Halo 2 in XP. Doesn't let you play online though, and honestly, Halo 2 is all about MP....single player game is pretty weak by comparison.

GoW is a better choice than Halo 2 for SP.

Da boy has no problem playing Doom3, Aliens, etc... So Gruesome
isn't a problem. :D
